Is this just my hypersensitivity, or does it bother everyone else too when newscasters talk about Obamas in comparison to the Huxtables. (sp?) African American model minority myth?
Carmen, it is quite an amusing show and I like the way that Wendy just says whatever she feels. When are you going to be on the show?? Sadly I rarely see it as I have to go to work!
Minotaar, I have not heard that one yet, but I have heard many, many of my fellow New Yorkers complain that “Obama’s not really black like us.” “Obama didn’t have the experience that we did.” etc, etc. Mind you, this comes from the perspective of those who mostly grew up in the city and faced constant discrimination and poverty.

Really? I haven’t really heard that, though I’m not as much of a TV news junkie as other people I know.
